MCHS Community:

Michele Flanagan
I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the principal  of Morris Community High School. One of the many attributes of Morris High School that attracted me to the school is the PRIDE that the students, staff, and the community have in MCHS. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this community and am committed to serving it to the best of my abilities.

My background in education started as a business teacher.  As a teacher, I taught 13 different business classes, mentored new teachers, served on multiple committees, and spearheaded many new business classes.  I taught for seven years and then left education to raise my children.  However, when I left education, I came across a great opportunity to work for what was then a small tech company.  I learned a lot from my years in the business industry, which I could bring back to my students in my classroom and sparked my passion for leadership.

Our mission at MCHS is to prepare, inspire, and empower students. I am committed to this mission, ensuring our students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for college, a career, and life. I aim to inspire and empower the students of MCHS to set goals, reach them, and go further through hard work and kindness.  My simple message to students is to work hard and be kind.  Hard work and kindness will make us successful and help our school community succeed.

While my time in the business industry influenced my career, I quickly learned during my time away from education that I was meant to be in education.  I was fortunate to have been granted time away from education to realize my full calling to this profession.  I returned to education in 2018 and served as a dean of students at Lockport Township High School before being named principal at MCHS.  I am thrilled and excited to bring my wide variety of experiences and skills to Morris High School, and I look forward to contributing to the school's growth and success.

My role as MCHS Principal is extremely important to me, and so are my roles as a mother to my three children and wife to my husband. Outside of school, I am usually cheering on my children in their various activities. We also love to travel and experience new places together as a family.
