Dr. Craig R. Ortiz

I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of Morris Community High School District 101.  I have a long history with MCHS, having graduated from here in 1991 and having taught math here for 23 years before becoming Superintendent in 2019.

It is a privilege to work with our students, employees, and Board members to provide the best educational opportunities we can with the available resources.  In my role as Superintendent, I serve on the Boards for the Grundy Area Vocational Center, the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative, and the Three Rivers Education for Employment System (TREES).  In addition, I serve on the Dual Credit Advisory Board at Joliet Junior College.  All of these organizations provide services to our students that strengthen their high school experience and prepare them for the next chapter of their lives.

Please feel free to contact me at (815) 941-5326 or [email protected] if you have questions.

My educational background:
  • Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), Educational Leadership, University of St. Francis, 2018
  • Master of Arts (M.A.), Educational Leadership, Aurora University, 2001
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Mathematics Education, Northern Illinois University, 1995
